WHAT I AM READY TO DO...

Read below for quotes from the LG Class of 2008. Each class member response includes things they are ready to do!

Consult local leaders on the local waste water treatment plant and if "they" are bringing forth any "green" initiatives.
I understand Spanish to a greater extent than I speak it.  I have contacted our local "universidad" (Bainbridge College) about a class in español.  This can only help me as our community has a growing hispanic population.
I could easily move to Dalton.....

Be more aware of who is around me.  Realize, even more, the immigrant population and their impact on society.  More importantly, realize that they are doing their best to survive in our world while doing jobs that we all need to be done.  Lend a helping hand.
Remain active in local community.  Realize that as a leader, we have the responsibility of adding value to our local areas by taking an active role in leading change.
Perhaps get more involved in local Education, serving youth somehow.

---- Eddie Reeves

Educate the masses on the need for revised immigration laws;
Be more understanding of those whose priorities may differ from mine, resulting in different life choices; and
Conserve Water by drinking more beer.

---- David Danzie

I will talk with our local leaders about what I heard/saw in the area of utilities.
I will definitely “roll out the red carpet” for visitors I come in contact with.  It was such a moving experience to be greeted so kindly in Dalton.
I will work hard locally to make sure that we are doing our part with water conservation.

---- Scott Hudson

Find ways to be the rock;
Think of "going green" as a profitable business practice;
See everyone again in Macon

---- Camille Russo

The player will show in this paragraph

Emphasize the need to evaluate future trends in demographics into community and business planning;
Be more aware of the importance of our approach to meeting future demands in energy / water and the interaction of them and best practices for the environment;
Continue to be engaged in Leadership Georgia as an alumni to help influence the future of our great state as those that have come before us have.

---- Hugh Hope

I am going to work to have our local business leaders come to the table to help solve our local infrastructure issues.  We need a county-wide sewer plan, and our business community must demand it and be willing to work to support it;
I am going to propose an “Educational Complex” for our county that can potentially change the opportunities for our citizens forever;
I’m going to buy a “Corn hole” game so I can pass the legacy to my kids!

--- Mark Peeve

I will use the shower caddy from the gift bag!
I want new carpet – but we don’t “need” new carpet – but I know what to look for when I do.

--- Leanne West

After listening to Don Cope, CEO of Dalton Utilities, tell us about the impact of our State's water plan, I have made a commitment to myself to read the State's water plan and let my elected officials know how I feel about it.
I am committed to learning more about the immigration issues in our State and Nation and broaden my ideas and knowledge base so that I can make more educated responses when engaged in conversations concerning these issues.

--- Ray Mckinney

Think about where my community needs to be in the future with regards to economic development and figure out what needs to be done now to assure that can happen;
Start discussion on ways the demographic change in my community can work for the good of the community and can be taken advantage of to be a positive in my community;
Think about my business and how we can become more environmentally conscious.

--- J. Hill

Expand our personal and professional commitments to conserve our precious resources.
To engage others around us to make personal and professional commitments to conserve our precious resources.
To examine our work, church, and social situations to welcome and support individuals and families who may not feel comfortable or know how to ask for information or assistance.

--- Chris & Julie Chance

PROACTIVELY embrace immigration and view it as an opportunity for all involved;
Think beyond the issues of today and begin to implement solutions to challenges generations ahead will face.  (energy, water, immigration, education, MORAL issues, economic);
As always, servant leadership is true leadership.  Be ready physically and mentally for you never know when you will get the call.

--- Anna & Tripp Wilson

Share what I learned with professional colleagues and friends.
Share what I learned with my preferred candidate for Athens-Clarke County School Board.
Follow Dalton's progress as I undertake my own leadership endeavors
