DON COPE

President and CEO, Dalton Utilities

Don Cope became the President and CEO of Dalton Utilities in February of 1997.  Dalton Utilities is a full service utility providing service to the City of Dalton, Georgia and the surrounding communities with electricity, natural gas, water, wastewater and telecommunication services.    He was President and CEO of the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce from 1995 until he assumed his current position with Dalton Utilities. 

From 1965 to 1995 Don served in the United States Navy and retired as a Commander (Special Operations Officer).  Don attended The University of Georgia prior to entering the Navy and graduated from the State University of New York, the Naval War College and the Naval Nuclear Power School.  Don and his wife Rebecca reside in Rocky Face, Georgia.  He is the father of John Cope of Jacksonville, Florida and Katie Hasty of Varnell, Georgia.  He is the grandfather of Kirk Cope, Hunter Hasty, Kaitlyn Cope, Remington Hasty and Peyton Cope.
