A message from the Mayor

Welcome to the City of Dalton! We are located in a prime location on I-75, between the international city of Atlanta, GA and the growing river community of Chattanooga, TN. I hope you visit, shop and consider locating to the Carpet Capital of the world.

We’re a City dedicated to going green, with efforts to increase our recycling efforts and adding to our already impressive list of outdoor recreational opportunities. We’re lowering taxes to stimulate economic development activity and meet our mission of being a community which attracts young, educated people to come to live here. Our community is truly working together toward quality growth and development. We realize the key to this is education. That’s why we work with our local school systems and Dalton State College to make sure more students are excelling in high school and attending college. We support Dalton State College as they seek University status and we see a great need to develop on-campus student housing. We want to be a city where new graduates desire to stay, live and work in our community.

Besides offering good paying jobs, we’re also dedicated to improving our quality of life with attractive parks, affordable housing and a vibrant downtown. We’re proud to have the carpet industry in Dalton, but we recognize it can not be the only economic engine in our community. This is why Dalton is thinking and building beyond the carpet industry. We’re proud to have Dalton Utilities, a company that offers every major utility service with a fiber network second to none. We support their regional expansion. For all these reasons and more, we hope to see you soon in the City of Dalton.
